Pregnancy Therapy Near Hewlett Ny

Pregnancy is a joyful and exciting time, but it also brings changes that can be uncomfortable for your body. As your belly grows, your posture shifts, your joints may feel looser, and new aches or symptoms can appear.

I help expectant moms feel comfortable, confident, and leak-free throughout pregnancy. Some of the most common concerns I address include incontinence, constipation, back, hip, and pelvic pain, and even pelvic organ prolapse.

Incontinence

Incontinence leaking urine when you cough, sneeze, laugh, or move—can be frustrating and embarrassing, but it’s something we can work on together.

Constipation

Constipation is also common during pregnancy because hormones slow digestion, your growing belly changes how your bowels function, and sometimes prenatal vitamins make it worse. Straining can put unnecessary pressure on your pelvic floor, so I teach comfortable positions, gentle exercises, and breathing techniques to help your bowels work more easily.

Back, Hip, and Pelvic Pain

Back, hip, and pelvic pain often happen because of changes in posture, shifting weight distribution, and more relaxed joints.

Pelvic Organ Prolapse

When one or more pelvic organs shift lower and press into the vaginal wall—can cause feelings of heaviness or pressure. The good news is that with the right exercises, breathing techniques, and posture adjustments, we can support and protect your pelvic floor throughout pregnancy.

I provide gentle, safe exercises tailored to your stage of pregnancy, strategies to relieve discomfort, guidance on managing pressure in your core, and tips for adapting your movements so you can stay active without strain.

As you approach birth, we’ll focus on preparing your pelvic floor to work with you during labor. This means strengthening it for support, but also learning how to relax and lengthen it when it’s time for your baby to arrive. We’ll practice breathing techniques that help labor feel more manageable, explore different birthing positions that encourage your body to open naturally, and discuss ways to stay calm, confident, and connected to your body so you feel truly prepared for delivery.
